Year 1 & 2: Mini Matisses

The Year 1s and 2s are starting this half-term by looking at Matisse's cut-outs, created in his later life when ill health restricted his ability to paint.

In this first lesson, the children practised cutting curved shapes, layering shapes of varying sizes and deciding which colours worked well together. The children created 'mini Matisses' using scrap paper before moving onto more finished work next week.
