Year 4: Sea pictures
Year 4's colour for this half-term is blue. They have been planning and making a sea picture using tints and shades of blue overlaid with a variety of patterns.
We began by practising mixing different shades of blue and comparing their tonal value. The page was divided into sections and painted from light at the top to darker tones at the bottom.
When the paintings were dry, we started to add patterns:
Some children experimented with letting the pen bleed into the paint or made bubbles by printing into the wet colour:
