    Year 2: Christmas comes early to Willingham Primary.

    The whole school is busily designing cards for the Xmas4Schools card scheme. It seems very early to be thinking about Christmas but the children are having great fun.

    Year 1 & 2: Castles

    This half-term's topic for Years 1 and 2 is castles and knights. In art, we looked at the features of castles and designed our own using sponge-painting to create textured walls.

    Year 3/4: Cave Painting

    The Year 3/4s are studying the Stone Age and in art, we have been looking at cave paintings. We learned about the caves at Lascaux, Chauvet and El Castillo and discussed how the pigments and marks may have been made. Then, we made cave paintings of our own.

    Art Exhibition 2017

    Willingham Primary School held its Annual Art Exhibition on July 12th. An entire wall of the New Hall was taken up by the Willingham Wall of Colour: This wall and the wall opposite included a painting from every child in the school from Foundation Stage to Year 6.

    This week, the Year 3s and 4s were looking at the work of Wayne Thiebaud and creating cupcake Art of their own. The first set of pictures are of Miss Hartman-Ayers' class.

    Year 3: Silhouette

    The colour for the Year 3s is turquoise and Miss Smith's class have been creating a background based on tints and shades of turquoise and then used black pen and torn paper to create a landscape silhouette.
