Year 3/4: Complementary Colours
The Year 3/4s have been learning about the colour wheel. In the last lesson of half-term, we made pictures using complementary colours.
We began by looking at examples of art using colours which are opposite each other on the colour wheel:
In their own artwork, the children could choose any pair of complementary colours. They made the initial drawing using oil pastel.
The remainder of the picture was completed using watercolour.
We were aiming for fairly saturated tones which can be difficult using watercolour palettes but the children did a great job.
