Year 5/6: Bubble Pictures
This week, as part of our ongoing investigation of the use of value and light in art, the Year 5/6s created pictures of bubbles.
We looked at the nature and structure of bubbles and at why the colours are reflected in their surface. The pupils had a free choice of materials and were encouraged to experiment to see which media would work well on a black background and how they could give an impression of shine and shifting colour.
We did observe actual bubbles while we worked on our pictures:
The pupils used a variety of media to add colour to their bubbles but chalk pastel and watercolour pencil were the most popular.
