Year 5/6 Quadkids Athletics
20 children from KS2 competed in an Athletics event!
On Thursday, 20 children represented Willingham Primary School in an athletics competition. Quadkids is an exciting and easy wat to organise athletics concept designed to give more children the opportunity to participate in and enjoy athletics. It covers the core disciplines of running, throwing and jumping in a team format.
Teams are made up of 5 boys and 5 girls, with each athlete competing in all events. Individual performances are scored using a points table and the winners are the team with the highest cumulative points score. All athletes take part in a 75m sprint, vortex howler throw, standing long jump and 600m run.
Willingham were very successful with lots of children winning their individual events! We had lots of success in the sprint races...
We also had some super throwers in the Vortex Howler Event!
Willingham had some very competitive runners in the 600m, extremely impressive!
All the children should be really proud of their efforts! This was a year 5/6 event and our year 6 children were on their residential meaning that Willingham took year 5's, year 4's and even two year 3 children!! This will be a fantastic experience for all those children as we hope they will want to return next year and be even better!
Thank you once again for all the amazing parents who helped out with transport to Wilberforce Road. We simply couldnt attend these events without your incredible support.
